Koronadal PESO grants work opportunities for TUPAD beneficiaries
Around 1,793 displaced and unemployed citizens are granted a cash-for-work opportunity through the Tulong Pangkabuhayan Disadvantaged and Displaced Workers (TUPAD) Program funded by the Department of Labor and Employment and the 2nd Congressional District of South Cotabato.
Implemented by the City Public Employment and Services Office, TUPAD entitles the beneficiaries to a 15-day working contract with the city government with a daily rate of 311 pesos.
Work assignments are to augment manpower for the greening program and ‘Basura Attack’ campaign in the workers’ respective barangays.
PESO Manager Bernard Taperla together with DOLE representatives spearhead the orientation for TUPAD beneficiaries. Orientation is held in several batches—per barangays grouped into clusters. Taperla in a statement adds that beneficiaries are pre-registered and identified within the barangay level through assigned focal persons.
TUPAD beneficiaries’ schedule for work starts from November 4 until 22.
