CADAC to recognize functional anti-drug abuse council
3 of the 27 barangays in the city will be recognized for its highly functional anti-drug abuse councils on November 11, 2019. The event was set to give high regard to their exemplary performance in complementing the government’s efforts in eradicating illegal drug problems.
The city government of Koronadal has intensified anew efforts to fight illegal drugs headed by Retired General Agustin Demaala as the new City Anti-Drug Abuse Council (CADAC) Action Officer.
To ensure that the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Councils (BADACs) are functional and effective in their mandate to suppress illegal drugs and criminality at the barangay level, series of evaluations were conducted in the 27 barangays on October 23-31, 2019.
Some of the parameters of the CADAC to declare a functional anti-drug abuse council includes: BADAC Organizational Structure, Organize Auxiliary Team, Trainings and Capacity Building of the Punong Barangay and Members, Regular Conduct of Meeting and Submission of Reports, Compliance to CSAR, Intense of Advocacy and BADAC Action Plan.
Winners will receive cash prizes ranging from P50,000(1st Place), P30,000 (2nd Place) to P20,000 (3rd Place) and will be announced and awarded during the Kick-off ceremony of the Drug Abuse Prevention and Control week celebration at City Hall Lobby. Demaala said that he invited the 27 Barangay Captains in the occasion as a way of recognizing their efforts especially those who excelled in the minimum standards for functionality and effectiveness of BADACs set by the DILG.
