Mlang VM Piñol, expressess gratitude to LGU Koronadal
Mlang Vice Mayor Joselito Piñol of Cotabato Province expressed his gratitude for the assistance extended by the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Koronadal. In an interview, Piñol sincerely acknowledged Koronadaleños for making effort to help the quake victims which extremely need support to rise again from devastation.
The City of Koronadal also gave cash donation of Php150,000 to the Province of Cotabato. On the other hand, the city also donated the following items:
- 262 packs of rice
- 223 packs of used clothing and assorted groceries
- 4 bags and 3 boxes of assorted biscuits
- 1 box and 1 bag of laundry soap
- 1 box and 1 bag of coffee
- 63 boxes of mineral water
These are all items donated by various sectors and individuals who responded to the appeal of the city government of Koronadal for those who severely affected by the catastrophe.
Upon the recommendation of the Cotabato Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC), team Koronadal proceeded to the Municipality of Mlang to execute the distribution that includes two (2) puroks of Barangay Nueva Vida specifically Prk. 2 with 118 families affected and Prk. 3 with a recipient of 48 families.
Aside from the municipality of Mlang, some goods were brought to Brgy. Malasila, Makilala contained drinking bottled water, biscuits, groceries, packs of rice, used clothing and laundry soap.
In addition, the city government has also extended financial assistance of Php50,000 to the province of Davao del Sur. The City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) and the City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD) led the group in the first phase of delivering the donations while City Mayor Eliordo Ogena, is still appealing to the public to continually extend their help whether be in cash or in-kind donations.
