Barangay San Jose’s BNS, regional awardee for the third time
Even without salary, Barangay Nutrition Scholar (BNS) Belleza Sobredilla Amar of Barangay San Jose of this city still managed to become a regional awardee for the third time.
“I find happiness in giving free service especially for the children, volunteerism is my passion.” Amar humbly said after her third nomination as Most Outstanding BNS in the region representing the city of Koronadal.
For 37 years as BNS volunteer, she was first awarded as the “Most Outstanding BNS in the region in 2002. The same award was conferred to her in 2013 and recently this 2019 after being ranked fourth among nine nominees coming from different cities and municipalities in the region.
Amar also acknowledges the support of her family that inspires her to pursue as a volunteer worker in the government. She said, if it wasn’t for the understanding and help extended by her family in doing some of her works, all of her efforts will not bear fruit.
As a regional awardee, Amar receives a cash incentive of Php5,000 from the city government of Koronadal to be awarded this month of December and another Php3,000 from the Nutrition Council Office Region XII. Amar is just receiving a small amount as honorarium coming from the city and their barangay.
