Koronadal City bags 2nd place in Resiliency
The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) recently awarded the City of Koronadal as 2nd Place in Resiliency during the 6th Cities and Municipalities Competitive Index (CMCI) Regional Awarding Ceremony held on December 10,2019 at Cinco Niñas.
The CMCI is an annual ranking of municipalities and cities in the Philippines established by the National Competitiveness Council. Cities and municipalities are ranked on their competitiveness based on an overall competitiveness score from the four pillars: Economic Dynamism, Government Efficiency, Infrastructure and Resiliency.
In the area of Resiliency, the City of Koronadal which is under the Component Cities Category bagged the 2nd place and ranked 20th in the Overall Competitiveness.
City Mayor Eliordo U. Ogena conveyed in his message, that the awards are visible proof of the city’s commitment to continuously work for progress and development.
“I am empowered to empower, and all my dreams and aspirations are for the betterment of my city. Rest assured that I will continue to accept all the challenges given to me by my constituents. I will forever be resilient enough,” Mayor Ogena said.
The competitiveness index serves as an assessment tool to inspire and encourage LGUs to improve its services and implement efficient programs for the public, as well as to spur investors in the locality to boost the local economy.
