TESDA XII warns training partners on fund corruption
Private training partners and institutions are warned by TESDA XII against fraudulent mishandling of funds.
Regional Director Rafael Y. Abrogar II said in a press conference that they will not tolerate such practices that launder money from the government and strip students of their opportunity to avail scholarships.
Some of these malpractices are “ghost trainees” where names of students are listed as enrollees but had no records of training occurred but had received the appropriate fund.
“Basta meron ka nang violations, we will proceed with the investigation. At hindi lang po regional office ang nangunguna nito kundi mismong Secretary,” Abrogar said.
Once a private training institution is proven to have violated TESDA’s rules, a grave penalty of scholarship fund cancellation, banning of assessors and trainers involved, and perpetual disqualification for scholarships will be implemented in any TESDA office nationwide.
TESDA XII is currently taking actions on identified schools and conducts ongoing random inspections that are expected to come in Koronadal.
“We mean serious business when talking about the funds of the people”, Abrogar pressed.
