BFP, PNP remind people safety on fireworks season
Though there’s no complete ban on firecrackers this Christmas and New Year’s celebration, the Bureau of Fire Protection ensures the regulation of fireworks and its designated areas in the city.
SFO2 Ariel G. Carmelo in a press conference said that the use of fireworks is regulated through Executive order no. 28 issued by the president and the city BFP, is strictly implementing these measures.
These include selling of fireworks with legal permits displayed in assigned areas, having pyrotechnic works in open spaces, establishing a community fireworks display in the barangay, and the continuing campaigns with the DILG, DOH, PNP and BFP towards an incident-free new year.
BFP has not identified any manufacturer or factory of firecrackers in the City of Koronadal so far.
In support of the holidays, PNP City Police Chief PLt. Col. Siason also augments police forces to establish security in all entry points in the city. He also reminded the public to be alert and vigilant especially this peak season when going to crowded places.
