RJ Madriaga wins Reina Marbeleña 2020
Rj Ortisano Madriaga who represented the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) General Paulino Santos (GPS) was crowned the overall winner of what was tagged as Reina Marbeleña 2020.
During the finals, the candidates strutted their stuff in the flamboyant grand production number segment, as well as the playsuit and evening gown portions. She bested 19 other candidates and topped the five contestants from different barangays of Koronadal which sealed her fate as the first Reina Marbeleña.
Meanwhile, Cyrus Padrones Calixtro was crowned 1st runner-up, followed by the 2nd runner-up Moby Dangani who won “Best in Interview” while 3rd runner-up Yor Oddyfah bagged 3 awards, namely “Best in Production Number,” “Best in Playsuit,” and “Best in Evening Gown” and Kurt Coven Daliva as the 4th runner-up.
In an interview, Madriaga is an advocate of HIV/AIDS and Mental Health Awareness and even showed her insistence in spreading awareness and knowledge on the significance of the matter within the city.
The now-reigning Reina Marbeleña stressed out her plans of becoming the voice of the LGBTQ+ community of Koronadal and to speak on their behalf for there is a considerable need for the said group to be heard.
“I want to be the person who they can talk to, and I want to be the person that can help them. A person that can speak and fight in behalf of them,” Madriaga stated.
The pageant was spearheaded by KIPC Manager Elric Batilaran together with the LGBT President and Artistic Director of the said pageant, Mr. Ryan P. Selek in line with the celebration of the Hinugyaw Festival 2020.
Aside from the crown, the winner also received P10,000 cash and a plaque. The 1st runner-up received P7,000 while P5,000 for the 2nd runner up, P3,000 for the 3rd runner-up and P2,000 for the 4th runner-up. They also brought P1,000 cash per minor award and P500 per special award.
The grand coronation night was held last January 04 at the City Hall Grounds.
