City Employees strictly adopt measures against COVID-19
Koronadal City employees strictly adopt measures to suppress the proliferation of coronavirus infectious disease (COVID-19) in the entire city. Consequently, the actions taken are as follows:
- Washing of hands with soap and water and using sanitizer before entering the premises of the city hall or respective offices.
- Employees are temporarily suspended in using biometric however logbook for attendance monitoring shall be maintained.
- The flag-raising ceremony every Monday is also held off.
- Performs frequent disinfection steps as necessary
- Employees are prohibited from receiving personal visitors unless there is an official transaction.
- Employees on travel or with a history of travel from identified places with cases of COVID-19 and those exposed with persons under neither monitoring nor investigation are advised to take self-protection measures upon return to work.
- No employees or visitors showing signs of COVID-19 such as fever, cough, shortness of breath and body temperature of more than 37.7 Degree Celsius shall allow entering the city hall.
- Employees are instructed to bring their re-usable dining utensils and refrain from sharing foods and utensils.
- All official travels, seminars, and meetings to be held outside the city hall shall be postponed.
- Social distancing is also strictly observed at all times.
- Hand sanitizers, alcohol, and other non-toxic disinfectants are also provided to the transacting public upon entry to the city hall.
- All transacting public are required to log their details such as complete name, address, age, contact number for monitoring purposes.
The above precautionary acts are rigidly implemented through Administrative Order (AO) No. 10 issued by City Mayor Eliordo U. Ogena. This is in line with Presidential Proclamation No. 922 of President Rodrigo Duterte which the whole country is declared under Public Health Emergency.
Further, classes in a public and private school in all levels were also suspended from March 16, until further notice. Curfew hour in the city also is being reintroduced and this time earlier than previous implementations that pumping from 7:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m.
On the other hand, amid COVID-19 crises, Mayor Ogena also appealed to people to avoid panic buying, instead just buy according to the needs of their family. During the press conference, he assured the public that his office had already prepared a countermove when a situation comes to worst.
