Koronadal launches first Health Monitoring and Response Command Center
City Mayor Eliordo U. Ogena led the launching and inauguration of the city’s first Health Monitoring and Response Command Center which allows health authorities to access the locals current health situation with ease.
The system is said to monitor the people’s activities and health status as well as in quickly identifying persons who may be manifesting symptoms of COVID-19 in the city.
Through the use of Staysafe.ph, the city government believes that the command center’s establishment will maximize and pave the way for more effective use of the application. Also, this will supplement the city’s on-ground regular monitoring conducted by the barangay officials.
All data gathered from the application will be directed to the portal. Once there’s an identified potential and possible case of the virus, the information will be shared with the Barangay Health Emergency Response Team (BHERTs) to provide valuable medical assessment, guidance, advice and information to the patient. On severe cases, medical intervention is a must.
As the administrative and trade commercial center of Region XII, the local chief executive encourages everyone to adopt the latter immediately without losing time as people congregate in Koronadal.
“People of Koronadal needs to be protected from people coming in and out of this city… Sana magtulungan tayo kasi ito ang best way to protect our people,” Mayor Ogena stated.
The Health Monitoring and Response Command Center is situated at the 2nd floor of the City Health Office (CHO), near the City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (CESU) where the trackers are positioned.
This initiative is only part of the city government’s response efforts against COVID-19 pandemic. The said launching was slated on May 26, 2020, at the City Health Office, Alunan Avenue.
