In order to prevent the situation from worsening, especially during this rainy season, acting CHO Dr. Edito Vego reminds people to pay attention to the traditional but very effective method of dengue fever suppression, called “4S Laban sa Dengue”.
Search and destroy mosquito breeding sites. This includes covering holes around the house, drums, pails, and other waste containers at all times. Also, flip-over empty bottles, jars, tin cans, and other items that can collect water.
Seek early consultation- consult with the nearest health facility if there is already have a fever for two (2) days.
Secure self-protection measures like wearing long pants and long-sleeve shirts while the use of mosquito repellent is also recommended.
Support fogging or spraying in hotspot areas. Fogging should be done if there is an impending and during outbreaks.
As health providers said, mosquitoes have no brains, so people have no reason not to beat them.
