City gov’t will soon complete the three-story CHO building
More healthcare-related construction is in the pipeline of the City Government of Koronadal as the expected P35-M three-story City Health Office (CHO) is in the process of its building completion that will soon rise along R. Alunan Avenue.
Dr. Edito Vego, OIC-City Health Officer, said that the redevelopment of the facility has long been anticipated and considered to be another milestone for the future CHO that will best accommodate and provide delivery of health services for the public.
The said facility will house various medical services which include the Out-patient Department (OPD), dental and lying-in clinic, pharmacy, immunization, voluntary counselling and testing of those who want to know their status on HIV-Aids, TB-Dots treatment, sputum examination, Hepatitis B tests, prenatal services, among others.
DPWH XII Regional Director Basir M. Ibrahim conveyed that the completion of the said building is very timely in this struggling time and has a strong impact in their office by meeting its social responsibility through the provision of basic medical needs. Moreover, RD Ibrahim expressed appreciation to City Mayor Eliordo U. Ogena’s hard work and dedication in providing quality life to its people.
With construction teams working around the clock to complete the project, the director reiterated its commitment to continue to serve as the government’s “construction arm” in improving the lives of every Filipino through quality public infrastructure, in particular, the constituents of the City of Koronadal.
City Mayor Eliordo U. Ogena was also grateful for the DPWH’s support for the infrastructure being built in the City. The Mayor added that he is currently seeking the availability of fund for the additional molecular laboratory facility in the building, which is supported by the Department of Health (DOH). Aside from providing livelihoods, one of the Mayor’s top priorities is the medical frontliners who are almost overwhelmed by many health concerns in the area.
“Health is very important. What’s the use of progress and development if we are not healthy,” the Mayor stressed.
