Civil Security Unit plans security measures ahead of PasKoronadal
It has been a while since the city of Koronadal last looked alive and festive as it prepares ahead for the Christmas season—and the response of Koronadaleños are overwhelming.
People have flocked the park-like city hall grounds at night to take pictures of the fountain and improved landscape, as well as the sea of flowers laid out in the shape of a parol. Due to the months-long quarantine restrictions, peoples’ reactions were very telling on how they missed being in the mood for holiday celebrations.
However, the pursued Christmas festivity by the local government is never an excuse to be lax on security, as there are two things that concern the Civil Security Unit (CSU): the threat to public security and danger to public health.
With these in mind, CSU Chief Ret. Col. Raul Miramon says their office has laid out security plans for crowd control and alleviate crowd congestion, putting “No Face Mask and Face Shield, No StaySafe/CCTS, No Entry Policy” in place for all visitors. He also confirmed getting an additional workforce from Koronadal PNP, City Traffic Management Office, and Zone III BPATs to augment security personnel.
Only 16 years old and above are allowed to enter the City Hall Lobby. People are also reminded to throw garbage in their respective bins.
Ret. Col. Miramon also appeals to the public to be responsible when visiting the Christmas attraction—maintain social distancing and apply health and safety protocols at all times so that the festivities can continue uninterrupted.
