Globe launches KonekTayo WiFi in Koronadal
In line with its continuous efforts to make internet accessible to every Koronadaleño especially during this time, Globe Telecom has partnered with the City Government of Koronadal for the launching of Globe KonekTayo WiFi project.
Against the backdrop of COVID-19, the said project aims to provide fast, secure and low-cost home internet connection to several barangays in the city, including General Paulino Santos (GPS), San Isidro, Zone III and Zone IV.
City Mayor Eliordo U. Ogena has welcomed commitments from the abovementioned internet service provider and hopes that this initiative will help the local government be among the first to ascend in the post-pandemic era.
“This Globe program will suddenly connect us to many people. In the current pandemic scenario, internet access has become a lifeline to people more than a luxury. Internet access is needed by students to pursue online education, by workers to continue earning a living while working from home, by families to stay connected with each other. We look forward to this initiative and partnership with Globe to help Bagong Koronadal adapt in ‘new normal,’” the Mayor expressed.
Solomon C. Juada, Jr., FSO-Mindanao and Cluster Sales Head, on the other hand, stated that “Globe is not only about profit and making money, but the epicenter of our operations is the customer and their satisfaction. We fully believe that we exist because of our customers.”
The use of KonekTayo WiFi service requires no device cashouts, monthly fees and modems. With this, students and teachers who do online schooling, and community members who earn and do “work-from-home” can avail of the internet service for as low as P15 a day.
Throughout the whole Mindanao, only Koronadal and General Santos pioneered the Globe KonekTayo WiFi service.
