LGU holds outreach program for IPs in San Jose
The city government broke the barriers of distance to reach the remote community of High Point Upper Cadidang, bringing 46 families closer to government programs and services through the January 26 outreach program.
Different local government offices were also present to provide assistance and services to the community, to include: the City Health Office which provided free facemask, medicines and vitamins; City Veterinary Office for treatment and deworming of ruminants; City Agriculture’s Office for the distribution of fruit and vegetable seeds; City Nutrition and Community Affairs Office for a one-day feeding program; and the City Engineering Office to repair the water supply system in the said area.
In his message, City Mayor Eliordo U. Ogena seeks the full cooperation from the employees designated in the area and the residents to look after of any equipment or livelihood provided to them by the city government. Moreover, during the said program, the local chief executive immediately approved the community’s necessary materials in their road reconstruction.
The said outreach activity wouldn’t have been possible without the support of various benefactors and partners, notably the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers, Inc., Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, and the local government of Koronadal headed by City Mayor Eliordo U. Ogena, Executive Assistant for Economic Affairs Rey Legaste and the City Agriculture’s Office.
Regardless of the current health situation due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the city government was relentless in their commitment to serve the public, especially in promoting the welfare of the Indigenous Peoples (IPs).
