2021 Search for Best Gulayan sa Ugsaran winners will receive incentive
The winners of the 2021 Search for Best Gulayan sa Ugsaran are set to receive a monetary incentive on December 10.
The said contest has two categories participated by household and Barangay Nutrition Scholar (BNS)-household.
City Nutrition Action Officer (CNAO) Nancy Adalin said that this year’s competition for household classification has been changed because although open to everyone, but families with underweight children are obliged to join. Adalin explained that they need to engage in the activity to support nutritious, chemical-free foods that will rehabilitate their children’s health, and they can also save on the cost of their food.
BNS on the other hand was also encouraged to take part in the said program because apart from being the implementer, they will also serve as a mentor and good example to every citizen in their barangay. The BNS who is involved in the challenge must also have their own plot in their residence since the contest is individual by nature regardless of the division.
The household team has 18 entries while for BNS-household out of the 27 barangay, 17 individuals participated in the contest.
The winners and prizes for each category are as follows:
Household
1st Place: Roselyn Calapis – Barangay Concepcion (Php5, 000. 00)
2nd Place: Marites Hosmil – Brgy. Topland (Php3, 000. 00)
3rd Place: George Jovenal – Brgy. Magsaysay (Php2, 000. 00)
BNS-Household
1st Place: Marieta Palma – Brgy. Topland (Php3, 000. 00)
2nd Place: Cyndi Gonzaga – Brgy. Carpente Hill (Php2, 000. 00)
3rd Place: Melanie Azuelo – Brgy. Concepcion (Php1, 000. 00)
For non-winning participants will still receive Php500. 00 as consolation prize.
