Koronadal Petstival Part II is set to begin soon
Wave to fur parents who failed to participate in the recently concluded Koronadal Petstival but want to flex their fur babies in public, this is your perfect time.
The City Veterinary Office (CVO) is considering holding a similar event for the second time this month of October as one (1) of many activities lined-up in line with the city’s Charter Anniversary celebration which is also open to neighboring towns.
“Dahil sa napakaraming participants na nagparehistro sa Koronadal Petstival, aasahan talaga ang part II nito,” City Veterinarian Dr. Charlemagne Calo excitedly announced following the flocked of more or less 400 individual being registered.
(Due to the large number of participants who registered for the Koronadal Petstival, part II will be anticipated soon).
The above-mentioned activity was the first time that people from neighboring towns like Banga, South Cotabato, and as far away as Cotabato and Kidapawan City came to participate. Aside from that, it is the first time that it lasted almost the entire day before the participants went home, unlike the previous one that ends earlier than the usual time.
The Koronadal Petstival, the first pet reunion held after more than two years of the pandemic, featured not only dog talent and games but also veterinary services.
The assistance included a lecture on responsible pet ownership, common dog diseases, and anti-rabies vaccinations, with 280 dogs receiving free rabies vaccinations and 120 being dewormed.
Meanwhile, the veterinarian recommended the following tips to keep fur babies from fighting when they are gathered together:
- Don’t mix big and small dogs in one area because they are bullied;
- Don’t mix same sex to avoid aggression towards each other;
- Smell them in the butt, genitals and nose. If the feathers stand up, it means that there is an impending fight between them. Thus, Calo explains that there will be no problem at all if the fur babies are highly sociable.
The upcoming pet festival is open not only to breeders but “asong pinoy” owners are also welcome.
