LGU-Koronadal supports this year’s community- based Tree Growing Activity
In celebration of Philippine Environment Month, a simple Community-based Tree Planting Activity will take place this coming June 29, 2023, spearheaded by the City Environment & Natural Resources Office (CENRO) together with the Barangay Officials and Councils.
This year’s tree planting is considered simple, but it is intended to grow more trees. This is because the activity’s primary focus is on the community itself. Growers will plant in their barangay and encourage others to join and plant in their own yards.
A total of 16,277 bamboo, forest, and fruit seedlings, including nato, tamagong, durian, mangosteen, and others, will be planted in the ten barangays that will take part in the annual event.
The participating barangays are Assumption, Cacub, San Isidro, Mabini, San Jose, Paraiso, Mambucal, Topland, Saravia and Carpenter Hill.
“I believe na sa pagtanom naton sang mga kahoy, kawayan kag other nga maka-mitigate sang pagbaha ukon tubig nga halin sa kabukiran, makabulig ini nga activity para mabawas-bawasan ang pagbaha sa atong syudad.
