CDRRMO readies IMT on 24th Charter Anniversary and Negosyo Festival
To ensure a safe and secured celebration, the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) is now ready to install an Incident Management Team (IMT) relative to the week-long city’s 24th Charter Anniversary and Negosyo Festival which will officially commence on October 8-14.
During the negosyo festival press conference, CDRRM Officer Cyrus Jose J. Urbano said that since high-density activities are no longer strange to the city; it has become customary for their office to establish IMT. “Naging-practice na sang CDRRMO ang pag-organized sang IMT kay for several months, damo na high density activities ang city,” part of Urbano’s statement.
Urbano explained that IMT is a structural management system for emergencies and other incidents. Through IMT, all response groups related to security, safety, and medical are well coordinated.
For defense and safeguard purposes, these include the Philippine National Police (PNP) both the City of Koronadal and the Province of South Cotabato, and even the PNP region as the need arises. Regarding medical, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Philippine Red Cross (PRC), and city health emergency medical services are available for the entire duration of activities.
Other auxiliary troupes such as Kabalikat Civicom, Kabalikat Radiocom, and Kabalikat Malaya are also preparing and willing to extend their services to make communication easier and quicker. Thus, CDRRMO is coordinating and unifying the response team to ensure the secured and shielded activities and the same time able to respond immediately in case of unfavorable situations.
Hence, Urbano believes that peace and order can be obtained through proper collaboration not only for organizers and uniformed personnel but for those who are taking part in the activities.
