BPSEP Winning Barangays Gather for an Orientation

February 17, 2025

The Barangay, Purok, and Sitio Empowerment Program (BPSEP) winning barangays joined the recent orientation held at the Dreamweaver’s Hotel, City of Koronadal.  It was attended by members of the BPSEP Task Force, evaluators, the secretariat, and the officials of the winning barangays.

Presented to the barangay officials during the said orientation is the list of documents that were needed for the availment of their monetary prizes and the Aid to Component Barangays. They were also shown  the status of the implemented projects for the year 2020-2024, as well as the computation of the BPSEP Evaluation results through Kobotool and the rating cards.

In his message, City Mayor Eliordo U. Ogena has once again extended his congratulations to all the winning barangays.  He shared how pleased he was with this year’s BPSEP’s evaluation result.

“Ang ginakalipay ko lang sa resulta sang kompetisyon karon, grabe ang changes, meaning you cannot do the same thing again and again, you have to be challenged, you have to be innovative, you have to work harder,” Ogena stressed.

(The only thing I’m happy about is the result of this year’s competition; there were a lot of changes in the result, meaning you cannot do the same thing again and again; you have to be challenged; you have to be innovative; you have to work harder.)

With this, the chief executive urged the barangay officials to continue to work hard and inspire others for the development not only of their barangay but also of the entire city.

“I hope this program will continue to motivate and inspire everyone to even work harder because this is designed precisely to help all barangays to accelerate progress and development,” Ogena added.

Based on this year’s BPSEP result, among the best performing barangays who won the major awards under urban and rural categories are as follows:

The BPSEP, one of the flagship programs of Ogena’s administration, is a community-based initiative aimed at strengthening and empowering the smallest administrative units: the barangays, puroks, and sitios. This program focuses on enhancing the capabilities and resources of these local communities to improve their overall well-being and development.
