City barangays with 2024 SGLGB national passers receive incentive

The city barangays with the 2024 ๐บ๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐ฎ๐๐๐ ๐ณ๐๐๐๐ ๐ฎ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐ฉ๐๐๐๐๐๐y (SGLGB) national passers receive a monetary incentive from the City Government of Koronadal amounting to โฑ50,000.00. The passers include Barangay Cacub, Concepcion, San Jose, Saravia, and Zone II.
City Mayor Eliordo U. Ogena said the cash incentive aims to motivate other barangays to do the same. “๐ด๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ โฑ50,000.00 ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐,” Mayor Ogena explained.
The Seal of Good Local Governance for Barangay, on the other hand, is one of the programs of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), intended to recognize and incentivize barangays with outstanding governance performance, encouraging continuous improvement and promoting good administration practices like transparency, accountability, and responsiveness. Also, a performance assessment and recognition system designed to distinguish barangays with outstanding performance across numerous administration capacities.
Meanwhile, the above-mentioned SGLGB national passer barangays were given due recognition through a resolution passed by the Sangguniang Panlungsod authored by City Councilors Ma. Ester M. Catorce and John Rey P. Rodriguez in unanimous sponsorship.
The resolution is one way to recognize the barangays with remarkable performance in various management sections. These include the fundamental and vital governance that centered the following: financial administration and sustainability; disaster preparedness; safety, peace and order; social protection and sensitivity; business friendliness and competitiveness; and environmental management.
Further, it is also an award that demonstrates the backbreaking work and efficient leadership of the Sangguniang Barangay headed by their barangay officials.ย
