March 31, 2025

The most anticipated infirmary hospital will soon rise in the City of Koronadal following the signing of 𝑫𝒆𝒆𝒅 𝒐𝒇 π‘«π’π’π’‚π’•π’Šπ’π’ π’˜π’Šπ’•π’‰ π‘ͺπ’π’π’…π’Šπ’•π’Šπ’π’π’” between the City Government of Koronadal represented by City Mayor Eliordo U. Ogena and the heirs of Mr. Manuel C. Callejo, on March 24, 2025. Β

The signing and acceptance were made possible through the approved Resolution Number 58, series of 2025, passed by the Sangguniang Panglunsod authored by City Councilor Mark C. Lapidez.

Meanwhile, the said project will be erected particularly at Barangay Rotonda after Mr. Callejo’s heirs bequeathed a defined area of land measuring 10,000 square meters. With the venture mentioned above, Mayor Ogena forecasted the speedy advancement of the said barangay as construction of pharmacies, apartments, boarding houses, restaurants, and other businesses is expected. He further said that not only Brgy. Rotonda will benefit from the project, but neighboring areas as well. β€œπ‘«π’‚π’‰π’Šπ’ 𝒔𝒂 π’‰π’π’”π’‘π’Šπ’•π’‚π’, 𝒂𝒂𝒔𝒂𝒉𝒂𝒏 π’‚π’π’ˆ π’‘π’‚π’ˆπ’π’‚π’ˆπ’ π’‰π’Šπ’π’…π’Š π’π’‚π’Žπ’‚π’π’ˆ π’π’ˆ π‘©π’“π’ˆπ’š. Incipiently, the mayor was hesitant about establishing the hospital because of its huge maintenance and other operating expenses. He also cited the three (3) health district centers that are now fully equipped, from laboratories to ambulance vehicles to be used to respond to medical emergencies like rapidly transporting patients to a hospital and providing emergency medical care during transit. Nevertheless, Mayor Ogena embraced the challenge because as a seat of the regional center, he believed it is the right time for the city to have its own hospital.

Moreover, following the construction of the infirmary hospital, the South Cotabato Provincial Government has pledged to provide β‚±100,000,000.00, to the City Government of Koronadal as assistance for the said project.

On the other hand, the conditions for donating a portion of land include the following:

●The donee shall utilize the property that was donated solely and exclusively for the establishment of a hospital or any other public facilities as provided under the Local Government Code of 1991; and

●The donee shall include the name of β€œπ‘΄π’‚π’π’–π’†π’ π‘ͺ. π‘ͺ𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒋𝒐” in naming the hospital and or any public facility to be constructed in the parcel to be donated subject to existing laws, rules, and regulations.

Hence, failure on the part of the donee to comply with any of the conditions stipulated, the full ownership of the property donated shall revert to the donor. Β Β Β
