A yearly 𝑺𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒄𝒉 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝑴𝒐𝒅𝒆𝒍 π‘­π’‚π’Žπ’Šπ’π’š 2025, of the City of Koronadal spearheaded by the City Population Office, will commence anytime in June and the deadline of the submission of entry will be on May 30.

City Population Officer Janet T. Demonteverde, in her interview on β€œπ‘©π’–π’˜π’‚π’”- π’…π’‚π’Žπ’π’‚π’ˆ 𝒔𝒂 π‘©π’‚π’ˆπ’π’π’ˆ 𝑲𝒐𝒓𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒅𝒂𝒍, an FB live program, explained that the said activity is one (1) of the pillars of their office under the π‘Ήπ’†π’”π’‘π’π’π’”π’Šπ’ƒπ’π’† 𝑷𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒐𝒅 𝒂𝒏𝒅 π‘­π’‚π’Žπ’Šπ’π’š π‘·π’π’‚π’π’π’Šπ’π’ˆ π‘·π’“π’π’ˆπ’“π’‚π’Ž.  The platform has the following purposes: to recognize those families who have shown exemplary performance in carrying out their duties as parents; to examine how they manage their family resources; and to look for a family that can be an example to other families along with the optimistic outlook of increasing the number of model families in the city.

The nomination of model families must come from the 27 barangays and the family can be nominated if they meet the guidelines set by the City Population Office that are likely to focus on family unity and harmony; quality of the relationship between parents and children; resource management; community involvement; home conditions that the physical environment and overall well-being of the home are considered; quality of persons which refers to the individual character and behavior of family members; and the couple who have at most five (5) children in compliance of the principle of family planning.

While the recommendation of the model family is coming from their respective barangays, Demonteverde admitted that not all barangays have a nominee for a model family. Currently, the city has a total of 91 model families who may also influence their respective communities. Since the launching of the said program in 1994 until 2005 has already produced 31 model families. However, the program was temporarily halted for a decade and resumed in 2016, up to the present, and has been able to produced an additional 60 as model families. Β
