One of the biggest investors-Toyota Motor Philippines marveled at the Local Government Unit (LGU) Koronadal’s warm welcome as they put up mercantile activities in the city.

Denise Lim, president of Toyota branch in three cities – Koronadal, Gen. Santos, and Davao, represented his father, company Chairman Jose “Boyet” A. Lim, III, as a guest speaker during the opening program of the recent 24th Charter Anniversary and Negosyo Festival, was dumbfounded on how the City of Koronadal assisted and facilitated their clienteles.

Lim shared how his father was delighted with the city’s homelike vibe as well as the leadership of City Mayor Atty. Eliordo U. Ogena that shoves their organization to invest in Koronadal. “Our coming over here was the product effort of our organization as the chairman pushed to have an investment in Koronadal since my father was amazed by the warm welcome of the LGU Koronadal especially Mayor Ogena,” part of Lims’ statement following the admiration shown to the city.

She also labeled the City of Koronadal as a land of luck, far from large urban markets hence, more investments are expected to come. She said despite the city having limits from the possibility of having maritime and manufacturers that usually give birth and life to a driving economy, the huge scale propagation of jatropha (one of the species of flowering plants) for the extraction of biofuel was recommended to the city to be considered in partnership with the Japanese and Korean companies. Lim believes that nowadays agriculture is well-timed on a nationwide scale amidst the rising prices of production and cheaper cost of import.

In addition, Toyota’s president also stated that the city has a unique feature that has not been seen for decades in terms of ease of doing business and that is the people of Koronadal itself. “There is something else that Koronadal to rely on, something special [……] and that is the people power of Koronadal.” Lim explained.

Meanwhile, tourism is also another factor for city’s development where roads provide shorter travel time and bring transport connectivity. Thus, Lim is bearing up other capitalists to come to Koronadal to infuse business like what their company did.
