I uphold a quote by Alan Lahein that states “Planning is bringing the future into the present so that you can do something about it now”.

Amidst the challenges of the present time that seem like bound less and insurmountable arc the natural and  man-made calamities such as the world wide concern on COVID19, series of highly damaging earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and rampant crime and disorder. The preceding situations then imply the extreme importance of planning cautiously the future.

Mindful of the foregoing facts, the City Government of Koronadal drafted its Comprehensive Development Plan (CDP) 2019-2025, a guide in transforming the city into a progressive and livable place, through a participatory approach. Moreover, the new set of elected officials both from the executive and the legislative bodies likewise recognized the importance of plan in unifying and harmonizing their efforts in the realization of socio-economic advancement and sustainable development Taking into account the draft CDP, the Sangguniang Panlungsod members drew up their Legislative Agenda that was linked to the Executive Agenda which eventually led to the formulation of the CDP-based Executive ­Legislative Agenda (CDP-based ELA), a term-based plan.

I am confident that the CDP-based ELA for the period 2019-2022 will steer us toward the realization of our Vision dubbed as “A progressive, safe, environment­ friendly, garbage free and beautifully landscaped green city where all communities are highly competitive, resilient and empowered”.
