Castillo to pursue anti-drug efforts as new Action Officer

The  city government of Koronadal appointed its new CADAC Action Officer , Marine LtCol Clemente R. Castillo following the passing of M/Gen. Agustin Dema-ala to continually pursue its anti-drug eradication efforts.

Castillo served for at least 22 years in the government service as one of the members of the Philippine Marines handling different positions before he has been appointed as CADAC Action Officer of the city.

In 2006, in order to devote himself to his family, he decided to leave the service of the Philippine Marine Corps with the rank of lieutenant colonel. He spent nearly 6 years in private companies as a security officer at Sagittarius Mines Incorporated and Roxas Sigma Agri-Ventures Incorporated.

Castillo is the 4th amongst the five siblings of Patricio Bautista Castillo and Juana Rueben Castillo who were originally from La Union and Leyte respectively. Blessed with a daughter to a wife, Cynthia Barluado- Castillo who is an employee of DOLE Philippines at Polomolok, South Cotabato.

Marine LtCol Castillo finished his Elementary and High School education in Tacloban City and Abuyog Academy, Abuyog, Leyte correspondingly. Finished his Bachelor of Arts major in Social Science degree at Leyte Normal College, Tacloban City. His military schooling includes Marine Basic Officer Course where he joined the Philippine Marines; finished his Naval Qualification Course and Naval Command Staff Course.

Castillo is very confident that he will continue what the previous leadership has started with the Office’s plans and programs, but he needs to make some improvements if necessary.

“I accepted the position even though there be lots of  challenges and because I want to contribute something to make Koronadal City a drug- free community. I am very optimistic that with the help of our Almighty God and the cooperation of different barangays officials and concerned government sectors, we can contribute for the betterment of the lives of the surrenderees (Person Who Used Drugs),” Castillo”, shared.
