CTO launches digital platform for convenient payment

January 6, 2022

The Covid-19 pandemic has prompted the City Government of Koronadal to use digital payment platforms in its response efforts for hassle-free, secure and convenient payments as a digital solution to the new normal.

Wherever the client is, especially those who live abroad, there is no need to conduct business in the City Treasurer’s Office. The CTO recently launched Link.BizPortal, Land Bank’s electronic payment channel, for convenient payment of business taxes, RPT and other fees.

According to City Treasurer Marloun C. Gumbao,CPA , it is not necessary to have a Land Bank account to use the said app. The customer needs any bank account ready for online payment wherein transactions can be made from other bank account to Land Bank. Credit cards can also be used to pay. In fact, Gumbao had tried it himself in December after paying for his RPT. “The real benefit of this is that your payment is guaranteed to be transferred to the city government account,” Gumbao said.

The Land Bank Link.BizPortal aims to provide convenience and efficiency to all  institutions involved, as well as safer and faster delivery of funds. It also reduces the direct and indirect costs associated with cash or the distribution of goods in kind. In the meantime, the system also establishes accountability and control over financial flows, with a consequent reduction in corruption and theft; and unblock traffic in the lobby  and save on operating costs.

“The real benefit of using the online transaction is to minimize face-to-face interactions. We have implemented a mechanic in our office. Before proceeding with the use of the app , the client must first request billing in our office via online”, Gumbao emphasized.

These are the steps to pay online via Link.BizPortal:

  • Get an Order Payment thru
  • CTO Koronadal at Facebook
  • koronadaltreasury @ gmail.com
  • Go to www.LBP-eservice.com
  • Select CITY GOVERNMENT OF KORONADAL – BUSS TAX, RPT and OTHER FEES – as Merchant
  • Fill Out Form (Alphanumeric character only)
  • Your electronic copy of OR will be send through your email or messenger account

Meanwhile, Gumbao said he plans to expand the use of electronic payment centers like paymaya, Gcash and so on in the future to give the client a variety of options. According to Gumbao, they accept all types of online payment. “You can pay quarterly or full payment of business tax, property tax, payment of penalties, etc. Just ask for the billing”, he said.

City Treasurer Gumbao hopes that this year will be boosted by the increased utilization of digital payment services.
