Café Dose features products from Region XII
The long-awaited grand opening of the Café Dose kiosk, which is located in the heart of the city hall, took place on March 1, 2022. It serves coffee and other beverages made from local coffee and cacao beans. Cakes and pastries, as well as other cacao-based foods, are available.
The ribbon-cutting was attended by DTI – 12 Regional Director Jude Constantine S. Jaugan, as well as the Provincial Directors. The director also expressed gratitude to City Mayor Atty. Eliordo U. Ogena for his acceptance and support of their programs.
“Region XII is known for the Coffee Capital of the Philippines so we must patronize our local product, we need to share our own products for others to know it. Hindi lang sa pagbili nito kundi sa pagbabahagi ng produkto sa iba”, this is the goal shared by Dir. Jaugan with regards to the product of Region XII.
Café Dose was chosen by the department to represent Region XII’s product in collaboration with the OTOP Philippines Hub, which will eventually promote the consumption of local coffee and cacao products among tourists and local citizens.
North Cotabato arabica, Sarangani fine robusta, and South Cotabato and Sultan Kudarat blended beans are available. Café Dose’s food and drinks are made by MSMEs (Micro Small and Medium Enterprises) that are supported by the DTI Region 12.
“It’s nice to know that we are doing something for our local product. This is a good way to showcase our product. We should help each other, support each other all the way.” this was announced by City Mayor Eliordo U. Ogena at the opening of Café Dose.
The store will be operated by South Rays Valley Foods Association, Inc. under an agreement between the local government unit and DTI-12. The operator is well-known for its various food products, particularly tablea, chocolates, and other cacao-based food products.
The kiosk’s goal is to help establish SOCCSKSARGEN as a product that can benefit our local coffee farmers, as well as to provide entrepreneurs with business opportunities.
The Café Dose at New City Hall is open Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
