Koronadal celebrates month-long 23rd Charter Anniversary

LGU-Koronadal is buzzing with excitement for the monthlong celebration of the city’s 23rd anniversary and the Negosyo Festival 2023, with the theme “Embracing Innovation and Creating Business Opportunities.” Various activities have been line-up in preparation for the monthlong celebration of the city’s 23rd anniversary and the Negosyo Festival 2023.

As part of the pre-opening activities, a simultaneous motorcade activity kicked-off on Sunday, October 1 from the New City Hall Building to Rizal Park, while the 1st ever Amyak Malbal- Trail Run Race happened in Cityhall Ground.

Meanwhile, City Mayor Atty. Eliordo Ogena led the “Grand Sale Month 2023” on the city’s three largest malls, including the KCC Mall of Marbel, the Mall of Ace Centerpoint, and the Gaisano Grand Mall.

On the charter day, October 8, there will be a marathon (42k, 21k, 10k) and 5k fun run, as well as a Mountain Bike Race, while the Interfaith Thanksgiving Ceremony will take place in the city’s Rizal Park. Following that will be a pigdiriwang – different lechon houses will compete for the title of best lechon house in the city.

The other events lined up for the festival are the Anniversary Program, Dog fashion show and pet fair, Market Festival and Product Sales, Kasalan ng Bayan, Mountain Bike Downhill Challenge, and many more.

A firework display is expected to show to ignite the Charter day and the month-long celebration. As part of the Negosyo Festival, the Notre Dame of Marbel University College of Business and Accountancy set to launch Monday, October 9-13

the CBAligyaanay , a business-related services made by the Marist business people who are ready to leave their imprint on the corporate world.

Besides the NDMU CBAligyaanay, the Department of Trade and Industry XII will launch their Trade Fairs featuring different kinds of products from the region. A kapehan and Trade Fairs will also take place.

Apart from the daily events, a nightly variety show awaits called Octobeerfest, which will showcase talents of the local bands and will also feature music performances of the guest singer, the King of Moro- Datu Khomeini Camsa Bansuan that will surely make the evenings alive.

The city government will also host a “Business Sector Night” to honor and recognize business establishments in making Koronadal a business-friendly city.

In addition to the festivities, the city government in partnership with the Koronadal City Bonsai Society, will host a second in-house and exclusive Bonsai exhibit as well as the first in-house and exclusive Suiseki exhibit to display various types of show-quality trees and natural stone.

Meanwhile, series of Interschool activities such as Poster Making, Quiz Bowl and Spoken Poetry will be conducted in the City Hall Lobby.

The Charter Anniversary is one of the most important celebrations in the city, which was founded in 2000 when President Joseph Ejercito Estrada signed Republic Act No. 8803, which established the City of Koronadal as a component city of South Cotabato.
