A city’s new COVID-19 Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility (TTMF) worth 10 million pesos located at Barangay Concepcion has been completed after five (5) months construction which is one (1) month ahead of its 6-month construction target. It has 13 amenities and equipment to include:

  • 4 wards with a total of 26-bed units capacity
  • 2 toilets for male and female and baths including PWD
  • Utility access
  • Nurse station with toilet and bath
  • 3 levels of doffing station
  • Anteroom
  • Donning room
  • Doctor’s office
  • Storage and supply room
  • Ice Lined Refrigerator (ILR) and vaccine storage
  • 2 heavy-duty folding beds for monitoring
  • Laboratory

The project was funded by the Department of Health (DOH) Region XII as part of their COVID-19 intervention. Dir. Aristides Concepcion Tan stated that at present the said edifice will only be intended for the use of COVID-19 patients but once the pandemic is over, it can also be used in other health services.

The building is one (1) of the six (6) isolation complex built and financed by the said agency since the pandemic started.

City Health Officer Dr. Edito Vego, on the other hand, extended his gratitude to the said agency for making the city as recipient of the big project. He said that COVID-19 patients will now have temporary accommodation while hoping that the facility will serve its purpose and will be used properly.

Currently, the CHO is preparing for the operation of the new facility and part of it is the finalization of its equipment and additional staff particularly health personnel who will render services on the said building.

Mayor Eliordo Ogena also appreciated the project for it is conducive for recuperation. He said that the establishment is strategic and beneficial to the barangay where it was constructed because it will become a district city health later when the pandemic comes to an end.

The mayor discussed further his plan of putting a monocular laboratory for x-ray and dialysis machines so that the constituents will have the option of where they want to be treated.

In addition, the chief executive said that choosing Barangay Concepcion to be a recipient of TTMF was not an accident but is because of the good governance of the Barangay Council under the leadership of Barangay Captain Nema Joquino.

Meanwhile, despite the doubts on the negative impact on the influx of COVID-19 patients once it is already operational, but still Barangay Captain Joquino bravely accepted the project. She said she just focused on the advantages it will bring the people of her barangay though it is for the entire Koronadaleño.
