Mayor Ogena signs EO 31 to intensify Clean and Green Program
City Mayor, Atty. Eliordo U. Ogena signed Executive Order No. 31, series of 2021, creating the City Clean and Green Program whereby enthused by its vision a “ Bagong Koronadal: A progressive, safe, environment- friendly, garbage free and beautifully landscaped green city, where all communities are highly competitive, resilient and empowered”.
The city government directs all effort toward a “ Masigasig na Kaakibat ng mga Barangay at Tunay na Kaibigan ng mga Sitio at Purok” through the Barangay Empowerment Program. Meanwhile, an evaluation will be conducted to the different puroks of the 27 barangays of the city to determine the winners based on the mechanics, guidelines and criteria for the purpose.
The City Government of Koronadal will be giving a cash award to whoever will be proclaimed winners by the Technical Working Group and will represent their barangay to the City’s Search for the Cleanest and Greenest Barangay and in similar way, the barangay who successfully be triumphant will be representing the city to the Province wide Search for the Cleanest and Greenest Local Government Unit in South Cotabato.
The Mayor clearly stated that the implementation of the said Executive Order for the city to be recognized as the cleanest and greenest town is not only a city government’s endeavor but most importantly of the barangays. “The city cannot claim its prominent and esteemed status without the help of the barangays and down to its grass roots” the Mayor said. The duration of the said evaluation is September 6 until September 16, 2021. Winners will be proclaimed on the 17th day of the same month.
