KAMPILAN hopes to promote stamina, endurance and teamwork

With the aim of promoting stamina, endurance and teamwork,the city goverment of Koronadal hosted this year’s “Kampilan Buddy Challenge”, it is highlighted by a Tactical Combat Casualty Care or the better known TC3, in which 24 teams from different units of the Central Joint Task Force participated on September 29 at the Rizal Park Grounds, City of Koronadal.

In the said event, each team was tested to administer first aid to their teammates in a situation where one member of each team was injured in a combat mission, and they performed combat care for the injured under fire to represent a realistic combat situation.

The 6th Infantry Division (6ID) is an infantry division of the Philippine Army known as the Kampilan Division, which is one of the units of the Philippine Army in central Mindanao. war and anti-guerrilla operations. It has three (3) brigades, namely the 601st Infantry Brigade “Unifier”, the 602nd Infantry Brigade “Liberator” and the 603rd Infantry Brigade “Persuader”.

The said event will be followed by the dismantling and assembly of firearms and Kampilan. The 24 teams will also compete and show off their stamina, endurance and teamwork in a backcountry race from Koronadal to Municipality of Banga. The city government Koronadal takes care of the awarding of the prizes for each event in which the 1st receives 3k, 2,500 for the 2nd and 2k for the 3rd place.

In addition to the individual prizes, the team will also receive an award. City Mayor Atty.Eliordo U. Ogena, made it clear that the presence and assistance of the armed forces in maintaining peace and order is relevant. As the police arrive in town and city, the military is protecting citizens by preventing anti-government forces from the other side of the city from coming in.

The ceremonial firing is led by the city mayor to signal the kick off of the said activity. The event is also graced by the presence of the Commanding Officer of the 5th Special Forces Batallion, LTC Zandro Alvez, PA; Col Edgar Catu GSC (INF) PA, G3, 6ID, PA and Col Joel Q. Mamon. “The success of this event is most highly given commendation by the high ranking officers of the armed forces to the City Government of Koronadal.”, Col Joel Q. Mamon said in his closing statement.
