Koronadal goes virtual to celebrate Charter Anniversary and Tourism Week

Although this year is not the usual celebration commemorated by the Koronadaleños, the pandemic cannot prevent the City of Koronadal from celebrating its 21st Charter Anniversary and National Tourism Week 2021 using the virtual platform.

A line-up of virtual shows has been prepared by the City Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office , where Koronadaleños can watch a series of talk shows featuring guests from the tourism and business sectors. There will be an online dance extravanganza, fashion show, “DAGWAY” etravanganza and a Pinoy Mukbang challenge to make the celebration more interactive.

On September 30, the month-long celebration will open through a talkshow entitled Together Great Things Happen! City Mayor Eliordo Ogena will be joined by the director of the Department of Tourism in Region XII Mr. Shalimar Hofer Tamano to discuss tourism –related topics in the city. There will also be a launching of infomercial video and infographics for the promotion of the tourism industry.

On the day of the festival, October 8, the second episode titled “Together We Achieve More!” will be broadcasted, with guests from the Koronadal Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The celebration will begin with a mass around 8 in the morning.

The SayawTurismo,  Biggest Dance Extravaganza Online, “Ads Mo, Ads Para sa Turismo” and “DAGWAY” Extravaganza Online Part 1 will mark the celebration on October 15th. Meanwhile, City Tourism and Cultural Affairs Officer  Elric Batilaran will address topics related to entrepreneurship during the talk show.

On the other hand, the “Tindahan Sa Barangay”, “Musta Na? NEGOSYONG LUMALABAN” and “Dagway” Extravanganza Online Part 2 will highlight the October 22nd celebrations. DOLE XII Regional Director Raymundo Agravante and  DENR XII Regional Director Felix S. Alicer will grace the occassion as guest speakers.

The month-long celebration ends on September 29th with a talk show entitled “Together we are stronger!”. An online fashion show and an awarding ceremony for the winners will highlight the show.  OIC Chief of Police Joedy Lito Guisinga, City DILG-CLGOO Jennifer Fernandez and City Health Physician Dr. Stephen Mortera will talk on the many challenges the government is facing as a result of the pandemic and how the city has grown stronger.

This year’s celebration is anchored in the theme: “ Together great things happen, together we achieve more”.
