Serbisyong TUPAD aids Koronadaleño workers

Through the combined inititative of City Mayor Eliordo Ogena and Congressman Ferdinand Hernandez, the City of Koronadal has been given priority for the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers” (TUPAD) program.

TUPAD is a community-based assistance program that provides emergency employment to displaced, underemployed and seasonal workers for a minimum period of 10 days, but not exceeding a maximum of 30 days.

A total of 141 workers in the informal sector affected by the pandemic will receive cash assistance through the Department of Labor and Employment’s (DOLE) “Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers” (TUPAD) program.

The recipients cheered when the secretary announced that each beneficiary would receive PHP 5,000 in cash.

South Cotabato Congressman Ferdinand Hernandez and City Mayor Eliordo Ogena, in coordination with the DOLE board of Trustees, led the distribution of cash incentives to 141 beneficiaries on September 24 at Barangay Morales, this city.

During the ceremony, several lucky beneficiaries received Nego-Kart from the DOLE’s Integrated Livelihood Program- the Negosyo Kariton project.

According to the head of the Public Employment Service (PESO) Bernard Taperla Jr., the worker works approximately 4 hours a day in the 14 days indicated. The necessary requirements that they need to pass includes 2×2 ID Picture (1 Original), Government Valid ID (1 Original and 1 photocopy), Barangay Certification of Residency Indigency (1 Original and 1 Photocopy) and DOLE Profile Form (1 Original, they can secure it through PESO). They can submit it to the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) building and, if qualified, they will report to PESO for orientation.

Meanwhile, the Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW’s) who is present on the said program will share on the cash assistance worth of Php 150,000, for theprogram of Overseas Worker Welfare Administration (OWWA)Balik Pinas! Balik Hanapbuhay!

Through the programs provided by the government to the people, many opportunities have opened up and continue to help, especially in this pandemic.
