PHILHEALTH Xll, encourages members to avail Konsulta Package

November 29, 2023

The Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) Region XII encourages its members to avail of their Konsulta Package, a Universal Health Care (UHC) program under the Republic Act No. 11223.

The program aims for every Filipino to have immediate access to health services without causing financial hardship while prioritizing the needs of the population who cannot afford to get high cost treatment.

PhilHealth XII Public Relations Officer III Hanah G. Naanep, in an interview at “Tingog sa Pagsanyog” FB live program, explained that the Konsulta Package is considered an agency’s expansion of its existing Primary Benefit Package (PCB). The program is purposely to warrant equitable access to quality and affordable healthcare goods and services to all Filipinos since the previous primary care benefit program has only limited coverage that caters only to lifetime members, senior citizens, sponsored members, and kasambahay. “Ang Konsulta Package ang resulta sang mga suggestions sadto nga hatagan discount ang mga wala nagagamit sang Philhealth, instead nga discount, ginpalapad ang services,” Naanep said.

Naanep told that the Konsulta Package has three (3) major benefits that include health professional services, laboratory tests, and supply of drugs and medicines as may be necessary.  She said further that it deals more with preventive measures that cover consultation and case management for many conditions such as health screening and assessment of health risks.

She urged the members also to take advantage of the said program because aside from being free of charge in government facilities, it can now also be availed in private healthcare establishments with a very minimal amount to be paid in case of exceeding the PhilHealth coverage limit.

At present,  a total of 93 facilities throughout SOCCSKSARGEN were accredited by PhilHealth that can offer a Konsulta Package, while there are 13 laboratories in the City of Koronadal including City Health Office (CHO) that members can benefit from.

Meanwhile, Naanep also clarified that not only PhilHealth members can avail of the said program but also the dependent spouse and children aged 20 years and below.

In addition, the above-mentioned healthcare goods cover five (5) main health components, to include preventive, curative, promotive, rehabilitative, and palliative. Thus, preventive offers consultation is now the agency’s priority while curative and promotive offers in and out-patient provision.

Rehabilitative concern, on the other hand, caters to patients who require rehabilitation like in drugs and sooner members will also expect palliative care where services are centered on patients having terminal illnesses. Currently, the agency has just launched its new health package that includes mental and neurological services.
